Citroen's multi-award winning DS3 just got a whole lot more hotter and funkier with its new 'Pink' range. So, is the DS3 Pink the ultimate supermini? We spent the thick end of a week with one to find out.
The DS3 comes with a range of engines from frugal and efficient diesels to powerful patrols. Our test vehicle features Citroen's outstanding 1.6-litre turbocharged 155-horsepower petrol engine which combines performance and economy in one rather nifty little package.
The engine feels punchy and full of torque at almost all its RPM's. This allows the DS3 to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 9.3 seconds. Push hard enough and the little DS3 can achieve an outstanding 133mph, that's Mini Cooper territory! Not to mention the DS3 155 can easily burnout its tyres which isn't the most efficient way of driving the DS3 but definitely fun!
The DS3 makes a nice noise too from its 1.6-litre petrol engine and easily turns heads… Well that's if they haven't seen it coming yet. Around corners, the DS3 grips like a scared little terrier and is surprisingly engaging to drive especially with the 155hp engine.
But forget about performance, although impressive, it's not the DS3 Pink's party piece. So, what is its party piece? The exterior. The Pink comes in two colours, black or white. Both colours are finished off with a pink roof, side mirrors and centre wheel caps. If you want to go all out you can also opt for a full glossy dashboard finished in, yup, you guessed it, pink!
Inside, the DS3 boasts plenty of room for adults in the rear and at the front. The boot is big for its size but could be a little wider. Nonetheless it's a great car to go shopping in. The DS3 Pink stands out like no other car, it's a little embarrassing for your average male consumer but it's the perfect daughter's birthday gift.
The Citroen DS3 then, very pink, fun to drive and most important of all, very affordable. I'd have one, well, maybe not in pink but I'd easily have a DS3 as a daily driver.

I know right! The car is really nice, the pink'ness of it is what caused all the embarrassment... Kids would come up to me and I'd have to explain that it's my sister's car.

Reminds me of the Miata I saw on clist a couple months ago which I really dug - white with a pink hardtop (slightly lighter pink than this). I shoulda got it...
But this is overkill. First off, the black with pink is eh. Second, I'd say in this case, either the mirrors OR the roof should be pink. Third, the interior... No. That kind of dash should not exist in any color besides black or gray. I'm fine with colored details but that is excessive.
